I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but we’ve been getting quite a lot of rain over the past few weeks, which has brought our beautiful AZ desert into full bloom. Ah, how wonderful! It’s rare that we can look out into the open desert and see so much green; it almost reminds me of being back home in Ohio.
One of things I have been noticing out there lately is that, with all of the rain, all of the plants and trees are growing like crazy! It occurred to me that this would be a good time to educate my clients about the possible dangers and potential damage that can be caused by overgrown vegetation.
Trees and limbs that are hanging over the structure, or even near the home, can cause damage when the winds cause them to move around. Worse yet, high winds could cause some of those limbs to break off and trees to fall over!
This overgrown vegetation can cause other, more difficult-to-spot problems as well, such as leaves building up on the roof. Even leaves that are still on the tree can be trouble; holding moisture against the structure and increasing the potential for leaks and deterioration.
Another reason (my personal favorite, actually) is to keep critters from getting on the roof or into the attic
So please, take a few minutes and walk around your home to check for any areas of potential risk. Then get the shears or the saw out of the garage and take care of business! Your home and your wallets will thank you for it.
I hope you have been able to enjoy the weather as it’s been getting cooler and as always, feel free to give us a call with any questions of comments you might have.
